Who We Are
We’re not just offering solutions—we’re building a movement
At MAP, we believe in the power of intergenerational healing—honoring our cultural roots and values while breaking harmful cycles to build healthier, more connected families for the future.
Founded by two Asian American psychologists, MAP is a movement for parents of all backgrounds who want to raise emotionally healthy, resilient kids in cultures of pressure, perfectionism, and sacrifice.
We invite you to join us on this journey to redefine parenting in a way that honors our values, expectations, and culture, while embracing the future. Together, let’s create a world where every child—and parent—feels supported, understood, and empowered to succeed.

Why MAP (The Modern Approach to Parenting)?
Holding Expectations with Heart: We know high expectations often come from love, sacrifice, and hope for your child's future — and we don't ask you to abandon them. Instead, we help you hold those expectations alongside support, warmth, and gentleness, so your child feels both pushed to grow and safe to fail and get back up.
Culturally Relevant Advice: We honor every family's culture and values while offering practical strategies that actually fit your household — helping you blend tradition with modern, evidence-based parenting instead of choosing one over the other.
Evidence-Based Techniques: Our advice is grounded in the latest research in child development, psychology, and family systems — so you're never guessing, and always working from strategies proven to work.
Encouraging Healthy Identity Development: We help parents raise kids with a strong, secure sense of self — proud of who they are and where they come from, whatever that background looks like. We also help children build the resilience and self-advocacy they need to navigate a world that isn't always built with them in mind.
Holistic Parenting Approach: Parenting isn't just about guiding your child — it's about growing alongside them. Our resources help parents build emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and resilience of their own, creating calmer, more connected homes.
Support at Every Stage: From toddlers to teens, MAP offers guidance tailored to each developmental phase, so you're equipped for whatever your child needs emotionally, cognitively, and socially — right now, not just eventually.
Community and Connection: Parenting is hard, and you weren't meant to do it alone. MAP connects you with a community of parents and experts navigating it together — sharing real experience, honest guidance, and a genuine sense of belonging.
